Nicola Ashby

Keeping fit and healthy in body and mind has always been a passion of mine. When I was introduced to massage in college, I absolutely loved it, I loved the ability to really make a difference and help people to alleviate aches, pains, and tension and help them feel good. Since the age of 17, I have continued to develop my love of fitness and massage.

I worked in the Further Education sector for 13 years as a lecturer at a college in Cambridge, where I specialised in delivering fitness and massage qualifications alongside delivering levels 1-5 In BTEC Sport qualifications. Throughout my time as a college lecturer, I also had private mobile massage clients and taught a range of regular fitness classes including Zumba, Pilates, boot camps and 1-2-1 personal training clients.

I left FE in 2021 to prioritise my own business, NJ Fitness and Massage, which involved a large range of community fitness classes specialising in pregnancy and postnatal. I also started to offer a wider range of massage treatments from my own treatment room.

I have always loved working in education and sharing my knowledge and expertise. There is no greater feeling than helping others. I am incredibly lucky to be able to do this day-to-day with my own clients as well as sharing this with other therapists.

I am very excited to be teaching across a wide range of massage courses for Gateway Workshops, I am looking forward to being able to support you with your next qualification.
